BAUER Hockey Size Guide

Bauer size guide to buying skateboards, gloves and helmets. Proper measurement at home, size charts and tips for safe choice. Easy ordering and shipping all over the country.

Stick a page to the wall. Stand with your heel touching the wall and your foot on the page.

Mark the tip of your long finger. Measure the length in cm. Go back to the other leg and choose the longest.

Bauer's common rule: Usually an adult chooses a size that is about 1.5 less than a US men's shoe size, and a teenager about 1 less. Also check the manufacturer's chart and fit preference (tight vs. comfortable).

Measure from the palm locator at the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger. The length in inches is usually close to the size of the glove. For example, 13 inches≈33 cm. Check the size chart below.

Circle a tape measure from the nape of the neck through the forehead about 6 mm above the eyebrows and back to the nape of the neck. The number obtained is the circumference of the head. Match the size chart of the model.

  • Check for free range of motion on your wrist and adequate thumb pad protection.

How to make sure a helmet fits correctly
•    The chin strap closes comfortably and there is no free movement when the hat is gently fastened.
•    The helmet sits upright. The front tip is about two fingers above the eyebrows to protect the forehead.
•    Various Bauer models offer micro adjustments. Follow the table for the specific model.

 Buy by age only instead of by measurement. Age categories are an indication and not a rule.

Choosing skaters in the size of a street shoe. You usually have to go down in size relative to the US.

Check the 1 to 1.5 rule and the dedicated pit.
